Charged Biochar

Charged biochar for permanent soil carbon.

Biochar stays in your soil for hundreds of years, giving microbes a permanent home. Ours comes charged with fish hydrolysate and compost extract, so it's biologically active from day one. Raw biochar can tie up nutrients in your soil until its pores fill.

What it does

• Gives bacteria and fungi a permanent home that survives drought and cultivation
• Holds water in sandy soils and opens up heavy clay
• Holds calcium, magnesium, potassium and trace minerals in the root zone so they don't leach
• Locks carbon into your soil for the long term
• Helps bind chemical residues in soils with a spray history

How to use

• Compacted or bare patches: 2–3 L per m², worked into the top 10 cm
• Garden and market garden beds: 1–2 L per m², worked into the top 10–15 cm
• Compost: 5–10% by volume at the start of a new batch
• Tree planting: 0.5–1 L per hole, mixed into the backfill
• Potting mixes: 5–10% by volume

Because it's pre-charged, you can plant or sow straight away.

Best for: market gardens, orchards, stock camps and compacted areas, farms coming off chemical programs and home compost makers.
